Bridge to the Mountains was incorporated and obtained 501(c)3 status in May 2017, but it was not until 2019 that the organization, as it exists today, began to take shape. Throughout the course of the year, we were able to establish a base of operations in Northside’s Spring Hill neighborhood, and hire a small, yet, highly diversified and skilled group of individuals to perform the necessary work out in the community. We developed a close relationship with Point Park University and became a practicum site of their Critical Psychology Doctoral Program fulfilling our deep-rooted commitment to education and collaboration.
We receive funding through the support of many local foundations, are contracted by Allegheny County's Department of Human Services, and accept donations from independent individuals.
The combination of our full-time employees, along with our versatile group of graduate-level interns, has further expanded our capabilities in ways far surpassing initial expectations. Today, our staff consists of resource coordinators, harm reduction experts, individuals with lived experience, and people with a diverse set of skills and talents — just like those we seek to serve.
